Aundrea Jill Welden
Aundrea Slaughter Welden, 76, of Macon passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024 after a brief illness. Aundrea is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Michael Welden; her parents, Harrison and Pennie Slaughter; brothers, Gerald Slaughter, Kenneth Slaughter and Clay Slaughter; sisters, Jeanene Jones and Karon Wilson.
Aundrea is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Welden Hampton and her husband, Shon Hampton, of Macon and her daughter, Jane Welden McLeod and her husband, Grant McLeod, of Soperton; four grandchildren, Erin Jill Hampton, Rachel Ann Hampton and Trey Lane, Caroline Jane Hampton and Zachary Michael McLeod as well as a great grandson, Silas Michael Lane.
She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Harriett and Pat Adams of Savannah, GA and sister-in-law, Dr. Linda Welden of Boone, NC and many nieces and nephews.
Aundrea was a graduate of Dudley High School, Middle GA College, GA Southwestern University and GA College and State University, where she earned her Master’s in Education. Aundrea served as a middle grades English teacher in the Twiggs County Public School System for over 25 years. She had a love for learning, literature, poetry and writing that she instilled in all of her students. Aundrea cherished each of her children and grandchildren with all of her heart.
Aundrea’s wishes were to be cremated and for the immediate family to have a private memorial at a later date.
