Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Griffin Coleman will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery in Montgomery County. Reverend Henry Lamb will officiate. Mr. Coleman died Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Mr. Coleman, 83, was the son of the late John David and Mattie Grinstead Coleman. He was born in Montgomery County on June 9, 1942. He attended school in Montgomery County and was a retired mechanic from HV&TG Thompson where he worked for approximately 30 years. Later in his life, he also worked for Braddy Farms and he was a Baptist by Faith. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Garnto; granddaughter, Silvia Adams; brother & sister-in-law, J C and Libby Coleman; sisters & brothers-in-law, Hazel Smallpiece and Junior, Coleen Rogers and Carl, Betty Jean Cason and Randall and nephew, Charles Coleman.
Mr. Coleman’s favorite quote was “I LOVE YOU, GOD BLESS US ALL”
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ellen Brown Coleman of Vidalia; son and daughter-in-law, John & Terry Coleman of Dublin, his special niece and caregiver that was like his own daughter, Brenda Sue McGahee of Soperton; two grandsons, Harper Innis and Trey Adams and nieces/nephews, Carol Foskey, Randall & June Coleman, James & Betty Paul, Danny & Glenda Parrish, Charlotte & Anthony White, Brenda & Ronnie McGahee, Stacy Smallpiece, Rhonda Jean Cason and Steven Coleman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Jacobs, Randall Coleman, James Paul, Ronnie McGahee and Stacy Smallpiece.
Active pallbearers will be C J Paul, Glen Stone, Cameron Coleman, Paul Whitley, Payton Gross and Anthony White.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
