Loye Wendell Griffin

Funeral services for Mr. Loye Wendell Griffin will be held, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Noon in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home in Soperton. Burial will be in the Palms Memorial Gardens in Hazlehurst, GA. Reverend George Grimes, Reverend Mark Sweat and Reverend Chad Cofield will officiate. Mr. Griffin died Friday, May 23, 2025.
Mr. Griffin, 85, was the son of the late Fulton & Linnie Mae Simmons Griffin. He was born in Baxley, GA on September 16, 1939 and had been a resident of Soperton for the past 23 years. He was a retired metal fabricator, a former employee of Dennard Drugs & Hardware and a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Soperton where he served as a Deacon and the helper with church maintenance for many years. He loved his family, serving the church and the LORD. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Griffin and two sisters, Sylvia Selph and Mary Christine Tuggle.
He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Linda Griffin of Soperton; son, Mike Shaw of Blackshear; two daughters, Angela Taylor of Long Beach, MS and Natalie (Jeremy) Beall of Soperton; eight grandchildren, Griffin (Gracie) Beall, Collin (Emma) Beall, Joshua (Kelsey) Shaw, Dagen Proulx, James Johnson, Jordan (Chad) Cutchall, Lakelyn Taylor and Gracyn Taylor; nine great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM Tuesday.
