Melanie Braddy Saliba
Funeral services for Mrs. Melanie Braddy Saliba will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home in Soperton. Burial will be in the Spivey Family Cemetery in Montgomery County. Reverend Chad Cofield will officiate.
Mrs. Saliba, 82, passed away on July 17, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and the love of those who knew her. Born on June 29, 1944, Melanie was the daughter of the late Wilma Beaty Braddy and William Steelie Braddy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mose Saliba; her son, Jason Blaine Baker; her brothers, Billy Braddy and Bob Henry Braddy; and her sisters, Dana Braddy Herman, Marilyn Braddy Coker, Jeannine Braddy Evans, and infant sister, Dale Braddy.
She is survived by her grandson, Webb Baker; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Baker; Jason’s stepchildren, Alex and Julie Higginbottom; her sisters, Patty Braddy Barnhill, Sonja Braddy Spivey, Janis Braddy Talley; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews who will cherish her memory. She also leaves behind her faithful companion and beloved dog, Dylan, who brought her comfort and joy.
Melanie was a “Class of 1962” graduate of Treutlen High School and a graduate of Troy State University. She spent much of her adult life in Dothan, Alabama, where she built a career and a life she enjoyed. Following her retirement, she returned to Braddy family land, a place that always felt like home.
Those who knew Melanie knew she was intelligent, independent, and had a deep love for reading. She valued meaningful conversations, held strong convictions, and remained true to herself throughout her life. Melanie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—a good book, a quiet afternoon on the porch, and the companionship of her beloved dog, Dylan. Melanie’s life was marked by resilience, independence, and a love for home, family, and life’s quiet moments. She will be remembered with love and missed always.
The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
