Albert Jared Collins
Funeral services for Mr. Albert Jared Collins (aka “Big Country”) will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11 AM in the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, GA. Burial will follow in the Old Reedy Cemetery in Toombs County. Reverend Bradley Benton and Reverend Michael Plowmen will officiate. Mr. Collins died Sunday, May 16, 2021 at his home.
Jared was born on April 3, 1988 in Savannah, GA. He was a member of the graduating Class of 2006 at Toombs County High School and received a full scholarship to a Division I college to play basketball. Jared was an avid musician and singer and after college he lived and worked in Nashville, TN for three years. There he performed in many venues and also was excited when he performed overseas. Jared loved singing and entertaining people. He was very passionate about his music and his song writing. He also taught his sister, Kayla, to play the guitar. The two of them spent many hours playing and singing together. Jared was a hunter and a fisherman. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family and his friends.
The most important thing about Jared was he accepted Christ as his savior at age 5. He was Baptist by faith.
Jared was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert J. Collins, Sr. and his maternal grandparents, Milon A. & Myrtle L. Gay.
Jared is survived by his parents, Albert Jarahn Collins, Jr. & Kim G. Collins of Lyons; sister and brother-in-law, Kayla C. & Jake Dyal of Lyons; two nephews, Jasper & Jacus Dyal; paternal grandmother, June Collins of Lyons; girlfriend, Rachel Carter & her boys, Jayden & Brantley and several aunts/uncles & cousins.
Pallbearers will be Logan Lollis, Brock Aldrich, Chuck Hill, Nick Hayes, Nick Wilkerson, Ryan Collins, Lee Milligan and Danny Lindsey.
Visitation will be held Thursday night from 6-8 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons, GA.
