Marvin Leonard Tanner, Sr.
Graveside services for Mr. Marvin Leonard Tanner, Sr. will be held Wednesday morning, September 30, 2020 at 11 AM in the Dublin Memorial Gardens. Reverend Kevin Tanner, Reverend Kelly Maddox and Reverend Kenneth Green will officiate. Mr. Tanner died Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.
Mr. Tanner, 91, was the son of the late Leonard Lee Tanner & Ruby Lee Graham Tanner. He was born in Laurens County and was a lifelong resident. He was a retired supervisor of the weave room at J P Stevens Co., owner of Tanner’s Nursery, co-owner of Tanner’s Service Center and owned Tanner Farms where was a tobacco farmer. He drove a school bus for the Laurens County Board of Education for over 40 years. He is also known as the undisputed #1 fan of the East Laurens Falcons. Mr. Tanner was a member of the Brewton Baptist Church. His wife of 70 years, Carol Bush Tanner; brother, Jack Tanner and sister, Ruth Tanner Savage, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his two sons, Len (Ann) Tanner of East Dublin and Mike (Rhonda) Tanner of Meeks; grandchildren, Kevin (Sabrina) Tanner, Keith (Macy) Tanner, Travis Tanner, Kacey (Justin) Ussery; great grandchildren, Hannah Tanner, Haley Tanner, Connor Tanner, Breanna Tanner, McKayela Tanner, Brenda Tanner, Cali Cook, Layla Tanner, Chloe Tanner, Lyla Tanner, Christopher Ellis, Freya Ussery, Daniel Tanner, Trevor Washburn, Gavin Washburn and Paxton Carswell; two sisters-in-law, Faye Shepherd of Dublin and Ann Higgs of Soperton; two brothers-in-law, Bobby (Pat) Bush and Charlie (Jo Ann) Bush of Minter and numerous nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery beginning at 10 AM.
