Patricia Ann Welker
Funeral services for Ms. Patricia Ann Welker will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home in Soperton. Burial will follow in the Morningside Baptist Church Cemetery in Treutlen County. Reverend Louis Pearce will officiate. Ms. Welker died Monday, September 2, 2019 in an Augusta Hospital.
Ms. Welker, 61, was the daughter of the late James Ray, Sr. & Grace Johnson Thomas. She was born in Fort Polk, LA and had lived in Emanuel County for over 30 years. She was a high school graduate, a graduate of practical nursing school and was retired from nursing. She was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Her brother, James Ray Thomas, Jr. preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Chris (Wanda) Thomas of Angier, NC; brother, Danny J. (Lynn) Thomas of Donaldsonville, GA; life partner, Ernest “Buff” Heath of Covena, GA; two grandchildren, Bryce Thomas & Deanna Snipes and two great grandchildren, Chase Gardner & River Snipes.
Visitation will be held from Noon until 2 PM Wednesday prior to the service.
