Donna Joan Holcomb Pace
Mrs. Donna Joan Holcomb Pace, age 82, of Soperton, Georgia, peacefully
passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Meadows Park Health &
Rehabilitation after an extended illness.
She was born on December 28, 1941, in Toccoa, Georgia, to Rufus Edward
Holcomb and Clara Whitworth Holcomb. After moving to Soperton in 1971,
she worked at NSI, Inc. She retired from there with 36 years of service.
Mrs. Pace was Christian by faith.
Mrs. Joan loved the Lord with her whole heart and soul. She leaned on the
Lord in her darkest moments, and now she is finally at peace in the presence of
our precious Heavenly Father.
Mrs. Joan enjoyed spending any amount of time with her family, and she looked
forward to every meal that they were all able to share. She certainly knew
how to cook a delicious meal and how to welcome people into her loving home.
She always had a seat at her table for anyone who wanted to join the family.
She also enjoyed growing a beautiful assortment of flowers in her yard, and
she was quick to share with those she loved. She had a heart of gold and would
do anything in her power to see to the needs of her family and friends. No
matter what, she made sure to take care of her loved ones, always encouraging
them to trust in the Lord for guidance.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth
Franklin Pace, of Soperton, Georgia. Together, they are at peace with one
another, enjoying the beauty of Heaven. She is also preceded in death by her
youngest sister, Lutrelle Parker, of Stockbridge, Georgia.
Mrs. Joan leaves behind her two sons, Dale (Mary Jean) of Blue Ridge, GA,
and Johnny (Lori) of Glenwood, GA. Her grandchildren, who all dearly loved
their Nanny, include Chris (Tiffany) and John Patrick (Courtney) Pace of
Soperton, and Harrison Pace and Hannah (Joshua) Nicholson of Blue Ridge.
She is survived by five great-grandchildren, John Pace, Bailey Pace, Harper
Pace, Haizley Vessell, and Jaxson Pace.
Also, Mrs. Joan leaves behind a sister, Jean Grizzle of Snellville, Georgia, as
well as her two sisters-in-law, Joyce Pace and Carolyn Pace, both of Toccoa,
Georgia. Mrs. Joan was greatly loved, leaving many other beloved family
members behind as well.
The family of Joan Pace would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff
of Meadows Park Health & Rehabilitation for their excellent care of our
Momma and Nanny. May God richly bless you all for the wonderful care you’ve
given both of our loved ones.
The family will receive family and friends at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 9th,
at Westview Cemetery with interment following at 11:00 at Westview
Cemetery.
