Graveside services for Mr. Joel Luther Watson will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Adrian, GA. Reverend Mark Hardin will officiate. Mr. Watson died Saturday, February 05, 2022.
Mr. Watson, 86, was the son of the late Thomas Luther & Gladys Hall Watson. He was born on November 4, 1935 in Adrian, GA and was a graduate of Adrian High School. Soon after graduating, he went to work for Armstrong World Industries in Macon, GA as a mechanic/machine operator from 1954 until his retirement in 2002. He loved golf, tennis, running and other outdoor sports but his favorite was “gardening”. Mr. Watson was a member of Poplar Springs United Methodist Church in Adrian. His two brothers, Thomas Edsel Watson & William Phillip Watson, both preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Edith Holton Watson of Macon; son, Alan (Patty) Watson of Macon; daughter, Jackie (Roy) Epps of Juliette; brother, James Grayson (Grace) Watson of Dublin; sister-in-law, Ellen Watson of Dublin; five grandchildren, Erika Epps, Brooke Epps, Trey Epps, Logan (Trey) Harris & Morgan Watson and two great grandchildren, Huntlee Harris & Elaina Ennis.
The family will receive friends in the church social hall after the service.
