Clarence Thomas (Tom) Collier Jr.
Graveside services for Mr. Clarence Thomas Collier, Jr. will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Westview Cemetery in Soperton, GA. Reverend Mark Sweat will officiate. Mr. Collier died Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Mr. Collier, 75, was the son of the late Clarence Thomas Collier, Sr. & Mary Elizabeth Looney Collier. He was born in Birmingham, AL on June 15, 1946. He graduated from Ensley High School and received his BBA degree from the University of Auburn. While in high school and also in college, he was an active member of both marching bands. He retired from construction work as a pipe estimator having worked for ACIPCO, BE&K and True Value Hardware. He served as a member of the US Army Reserve for eleven years and was also a member of the Army Reserve Band. Mr. Collier was a member of the Helena United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Dupuy.
He is survived by his wife of 24+ years and formerly of Soperton, Carol Sue Garrett Collier of Helena, AL; three sons, William (Alex) Collier of Atlanta, GA, Jason Collier of Hoover, AL and Shannon (Stacie) Humphrey of Helena, AL; daughter, Melissa (Matt) Hadaway of Alabaster, AL; sister, Carmen Dupuy of Hoover, AL; sister-in-law, Sherry (Eddie) Williams of Soperton; eleven grandchildren, Olivia, Nicholas, Sophia, Reese & Wynn Collier, Taylor & Rachel Osborn, Tristan Bryan, Nicole Maples and Cameron & John Tyler Hadaway.
