Frank Brantley
Funeral services for Mr. Frank Brantley will be held Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2 PM in Saliba Chapel on the campus of Brewton Parker College in Mt. Vernon, GA.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery. Mr. Brantley died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his home in Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Brantley, 78, was the son of the late Lige & Ruby Simpson Brantley. He was born in Soperton and was a 1957 graduate of Adrian High School. He retired from Robins Air Force Base after 30 years of Civil Service, was the County Manager for Putnam County, GA for 8 years, was Chairman of the Montgomery County Tax Board and was a member of the Montgomery County Commission where he served as Chairman for 3 years. He was also a Trustee of Brewton Parker College where he served as the Finance Committee Chairman. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon and a Choir member because he loved and sang gospel music. His sister, Nettie Eitel, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Vonnelle “Miss Bonnie” Brantley of Mt. Vernon; son, Vic (Sherry) Brantley of Baxley; three brothers, James Brantley of Clarksville, Hoke (Alisha) Brantley of Augusta & Bud (Keri) Brantley of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Tine (Carl) Zech of Cochran, Martha Darter of Houston, TX, Mary Jo (Wally) Taylor of Conyers, Paula (Teddy) Guy of Waycross and three grandchildren, Jackson, Olivia & Morgan Brantley.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Men’s Mt. Vernon FBC Sunday School Class.
Active pallbearers will be Jackson Brantley, Jim Brantley, Ben Brantley, Brandon Braddy, Darvin Wilkes, Bobby Joe Ward, Clarence Thomas and Blake Guy.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Sunday at Saliba Chapel in Mt. Vernon, GA.
