Thelma “Peggy” Demaris Herrmann Warnock
Ms. Thelma “Peggy” Demaris Herrmann Warnock of Soperton died Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2020 at Treutlen Health & Rehab in Soperton.
Ms. Warnock’s Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2PM in Calvary New Life Church with burial to follow in the Ricks Family Cemetery in Blackville Community in Treutlen County. Her two sons-in-law, Brine Gillikin & Scott Brandenburg along with Reverend Jack Stafford will officiate. Her husband, Leroy Warnock; son, Jay Roy Warnock; sister, Mary Maxine Herrmann Wraggs and two brothers, William Emory Herrmann, Jr. & Billy Emerson Herrmann all preceded her in death.
Ms. Peggy, as she was known to all, 84, was the daughter of the late William Emory & Thelma Ricks Herrmann. She was born in Treutlen County, was a graduate of Adrian High School and was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County. She was the founding Pastor of Calvary New Life Church of Soperton, GA. Her love for Christ allowed her opportunities to preach the gospel as missionary to Ukraine, Mexico, Germany and Israel. Her ministry included radio stations, nursing homes, hospitals, detention centers and prisons. She was the owner & taxidermist at ‘Black Creek Hunting Preserve’ and she also enjoyed singing and playing the piano.
She leaves behind three daughters, Tracie (Brine) Gillikin of Adrian, GA, Leasa (Scott) Brandenburg of Smyrna, GA and Joy Warnock Graham of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren, Jody (Keith) Horton of Vidalia, GA, Jessica (Troy) Parrish of Adrian, GA, Hope Calhoun of Atlanta, GA, Faith Drew of Savannah, GA and Summer Grace Warnock of Riceville, TN; three grandsons, Matthew Cullens of Pensacola, FL, Justin Cullens of Milledgeville and Timothy (Samantha) Trull of Cleveland, GA; six great granddaughters, Sarah (Chris) Spires, Brianne Horton, Hannah Parrish, Lorah Parrish, Kaylah Parrish and Miranda Horton; four great grandsons, Charlie (Kasie) Horton, Zachariah Cullens, Blake Cullens, Jackson Cullens and one coming soon, Folsom Jay Trull and one great great grandson, Cayde Reid Spires.
Pallbearers will be Chris Spires, Steven Way, Charlie Horton, Tristan Greenway, Justin Cullens, Matthew Cullens and Timothy Trull.
Visitation will be held Friday night from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Ms. Warnock will lie in state at the church Saturday beginning at 1 PM.
