Johnny Wayne Lanford

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Wayne Lanford will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home in Soperton. Burial will follow in the Beasley Cemetery in Treutlen County. Reverend Allen Green will officiate. Mr. Lanford died Saturday, January 16, 2021.
Mr. Lanford, 66, was the son of the late Troy Phillips & Gladys Rogers Phillips. He was born on May 30, 1954 in Vidalia and was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County. He attended Treutlen High School and was disabled. Prior to his disability, he was employed as a weaver by GFF of Soperton and he loved to hunt, fish and ride horses. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His granddaughter, Jacie Marie Graham and his brother, Jim Ed Lanford preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Beasley Lanford of Tarrytown; three sons, John Lanford, of Tarrytown, Evans (Cass) Lanford of Tarrytown and Jeremy (Demi) Lanford of Soperton; three daughters, Melisa (Michael Thaxton) Lanford, Teresa (Stan) Riner and Donna Lanford, all of Tarrytown; one brother, Rod Phillips of Soperton; two sisters, Dot Keene of Soperton and Louella (Donnie) Beasley of Tarrytown; 14 grandchildren, Skyler Lanford, Isaac Lanford, Alaya Lanford, Hannah Marcin, Hunter Lanford, Hadlee Lanford and her soon to be born sister, Nicholas Hester, Destiny Hester, Austin Williams, Dylon Graham, Payton Graham, Brandon Lanford, Blake Harrielson and Ezabella Riner and four great grandchildren, Kaigen Marcin, Kyler Marcin, Colton Lanford and Kaiden Harrielson.
Pallbearers will be Nick Hester, Hunter Lanford, Dillon Graham, Brandon Lanford, Blake Harrielson and Skyler Lanford.
Visitation will be held Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Higgs Funeral Home of Soperton has charge of arrangements.
