Bryleigh Leola Love
Funeral services for Ms. Bryleigh Leola Love will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Harmony Baptist Church cemetery in Treutlen County. Reverend Kerry Walker and Rev. Bullard will officiate. Ms. Love passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Bryleigh was an 8th grade student at Swainsboro Middle School. She loved playing softball and had played for the Soperton-Treutlen Rec. Dept. Bryleigh was very outgoing and loved the outdoors. She would often name animals, such as a turtle or baby calves. Her plans after graduating from high school were to become a Marine Biologist so she could save the turtles, or to become a pediatric nurse. Bryleigh loved children and they loved her.
In addition, Bryleigh was introduced to DBA church camp in 2022 and she loved it. She met many friends, some she already knew, and some that were new friends. She constantly talked about camp, the kids she met, and looked forward each year to returning. Bryleigh loved her church, Harmony Baptist, and everyone there loved her. Bryleigh was saved at Harmony in October 2021 and was baptized there as well. Bryleigh will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She will be remembered as someone who could always be counted on for a laugh, a devoted friend, and a loving sister, niece, cousin, granddaughter, and daughter.
Bryleigh was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mary Powell, and her maternal great grandfather, James “Fred” Bullard.
Survivors include her parents Sid and Charlean Love of Soperton and biological mother, Brittany Lowery of East Dublin; great grandmother, Dixie Bullard of East Dublin; Nana, Annette Bullard of East Dublin, three brothers, Mason Powell of Lyons, Christopher (Taylor Hutton) Love of Tuscaloosa AL and Josh (Jordan Kelley) Love of Soperton; one sister, Britleigh Powell of Vidalia; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Josh Love, Christopher Love, Brett Bullard, Kaiden Bullard, Zack Edge and Brandon Bullard.
Visitation will be held Tuesday night from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Timothy D. Venable
Mr. Timothy Damon Venable of Soperton died Sunday, September 8, 2024 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA.
Mr. Venable, 66, was the son of the late Gene & Mary McLendon Venable. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 10, 1958, was a high school graduate and a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a former machinist with Delta Machine & Tool in Newark, DE, had been a resident of Treutlen County for the past 4 years and was a Christian.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rhonda Venable of Soperton; son, William Martin Venable of Louisiana; two daughters, Jessica Venable of Delaware and Ashley Venable of Ohio; sister, Cindy Stewart of Virginia;
9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date by the family.

Devin Xavier Hightower
Devin Xavier Hightower passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024. He had been a resident of Treutlen County for 4 years. He grew up in Gordon and Macon, GA before moving to Shaker Heights, OH, where he finished his high school years at Shaker Heights High School. Devin was born on September 17, 1997 in Dublin GA. At only a few hours old he drew much laughter from his expressive eyebrows as he 100% mimicked those eyebrow expressions of his dad.
Devin had a deep love for all animals. From the smallest toad, which he loved hanging out with on a summer evening, to having to be repeatedly told, “No, you cannot have a pet bear” his love for animals was pure and abundant. As a teenager he enjoyed volunteering at the Macon Animal Shelter.
A lifelong love of cooking began at the age of 8 when he asked for his first piece of salmon to cook. He found zen in cooking, from brownies to brisket. He was unmatched in his grilling of steaks with homemade marrow butter and smoking briskets and Boston butts. Southern summer garden tomatoes, no store bought though, with lemon pepper was a treat he loved for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. His dream and biggest goal was to one day train as a chef in Japan.
He enjoyed reading on all subjects and had a wealth of knowledge he loved to share with others. Much like his granddaddy he enjoyed carpentry and working with his hands and was a handyman by trade. He loved nature and found ultimate peace while visiting his parents in California and watching the sunrise upon the mountaintop with a relaxing ‘smoke’ in hand. Oftentimes misunderstood, he was an extremely tenderhearted soul and his love for family ran deep and strong. His nightly calls to his mom to say, “Good night. I Love You.” was one of the most important things in this world to him. He was deeply kind, respectful, and truly appreciative to those close enough to know him well.
Devin was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Collen Crown, Frank Crown, and Tommy Dunn. His paternal grandparents Denise Hightower and Bobby Hightower. Devin leaves behind his parents, Stephanie and Jonathan Hightower, and his brother, Zachary Hightower, all of Beachwood, OH. He is also survived by his uncle, Curtis Dunn, of Hawkinsville, GA, a special cousin, William Hightower, of Madison, OH, and his beloved dog, Alaska.
A very special thanks to Treutlen County Sherriff, Tommy Corbin, for the positive impact he had on Devin’s life.
A memorial service followed by a family cookout will be held at the farm of Deidre and Henry Flanders – 364 Alton Lawson Rd. Adrian, GA - at 2 PM on Saturday, Sept. 14th. Casual attire is requested.
