Katie Earline Thigpen Prickett
Funeral services for Ms. Katie Earline Thigpen Prickett will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home in Soperton. Burial will be in the Alamo City Cemetery. Reverend Owen Waters will officiate.
Ms. Prickett died Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
Ms. Prickett, 69, was the daughter of the late Salem & Lula Gillis Thigpen. She was born in Vidalia, Ga on October 24, 1952. She attended school in Montgomery County, was a retired CNA from Bethany Assisted Living in Vidalia and a longtime member of Bear Creek Baptist Church in Montgomery County. She had been a resident of Montgomery & Wheeler Counties and had lived in Soperton for the past 23 years. Her husband, Talmadge Eugene Prickett and two sisters, Kathleen Poole & Grace Gregory, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her two sons, Neel (Tina) Prickett of Mt. Vernon and Tracy Prickett of Soperton; three daughters, Linda (Kevin) Mercer of Mt. Vernon, Dorothy Yawn of Eastman and Inez Gillis of Soperton; two brothers, Robert Thigpen of Alamo and Billy Thigpen of Glenwood; two sisters, Mae Montford of Alamo and Betty Brinson of East Dublin; brother-in-law, Etheridge Prickett of Workmore; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mr. Jack Day will serve as an Honorary pallbearer.
Active pallbearers will be Gable Waters, Clayton Tanner, Jamie Prickett, Etheridge Prickett, Robert Herrington and Russ Connell.
Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Soperton.
