Darwin “Skeet” Hansel
Services for Mr. Darwin “Skeet” Hansel will be held Thursday, December 11,
2014 at 11:00 AM in the Soperton Church of God in Treutlen County. Burial
will be in the Westview Cemetery in Soperton. Reverend Greg Lowery will
officiate. Mr. Hansel died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home in
Soperton.
Mr. Hansel, 73, was the son of the late Jim & Pauline Reid Hansel. He was
born in Treutlen County and was a Graduate of Treutlen High School “Class
of 1959”. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, was retired from
the Georgia Department of Transportation and attended the Soperton Church
of God. He was preceded in death by multiple brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 46 and a half years, Laureta Page Hansel of
Soperton; two brothers, Roy Hanson of Soperton and Johnny (Donna) Hansel
of Nashville, TN; five sisters, Helen Leverette and Joyce Hancock, both of
Dublin, Grace Edge of Uvalda, Wanda Harden of St. Simons, Lettie Dixon of
Marietta and numerous nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Hansel will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the service.
Higgs Funeral Home of Soperton has charge of arrangements.
