Sallie Mae Hutto Cauley
Funeral services for Ms. Sallie Mae Hutto Cauley of Soperton will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Braddy Cemetery in Montgomery County. Reverend Owen Waters will officiate. Ms. Cauley died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home in Soperton.
Ms. Cauley, 83, was the daughter of the late Eugene & Alice Lee Dykes Hutto.
She was born in Helena, GA on June 5, 1937. After graduation from high school, she married Preston Eugene Cauley and they farmed together for many years in Montgomery County. In the early 70’s they moved to Treutlen County and she worked for and later retired from Soperton Manufacturing Company. She and Preston were married for over 64 years. She was also a longtime member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. Her husband, Preston E. Cauley, their infant daughter and her three brothers; Bill, James & Charles Hutto , all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her two sons, William (Beverly) Cauley and Glenn (Rose) Cauley, all of Soperton; five grandchildren, Cathy (Jason) Funderburk of Swainsboro, Katie (Daniel) Williamson of Higgston, Will (Molly) Cauley, Tyler Cauley and Calle Cauley, all of Soperton; six great grandchildren, Mason, Madison & Mallory Funderburk and Kadan, Kace & Kamdyn Williamson; sister-in-law, Elsa (William) Smith of Tarrytown and several nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randall Whitaker, Wendell Smith, Charles Hutto, Jr., Russ Connell, Jack Day and Ken Pollette.
Visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
