Ray “Dozie” Hardy
Funeral services for Mr. Ray “Dozie” Hardy will be held Tuesday, May 30,
2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Higgs Funeral Home. Burial will follow
in the Red Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery in Treutlen County. Reverend
Bill Lee will officiate. Mr. Hardy died Sunday, May 28, 2017.
Mr. Hardy, 84, was the son of the late Cecil & Retha Mae Stevens Hardy.
He was born in Soperton and was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County.
He was a retired construction worker from Everett Dykes Grassing and a
member of the Lothair United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death
by his son, Chuck Hardy; his grandson, Jase Williams and his three
brothers, Roy, Robert & Rhodus Hardy.
He is survived by his wife of 64 ˝ years, Hazel Watts Hardy of Soperton;
three sons, Andy (Fay) Hardy & Tommy (Robbie) Hardy, all of Soperton and
Kenneth Hardy of Douglas; four sisters, Betty Jo Jackson of Augusta,
Kathryn Manning of Fayetteville, Ruth Ortega & Marilyn (Barry) Knapp, all
of Soperton; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Haggie, Gary Fowler, Toby Hardy and Cory
Vines.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Hardy, Dwayne Hardy, Greg Vines, T J Hardy,
Mickey Webb and Zach Hardy.
Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
